We begin the day with a pleasant two-hour drive heading west, gradually leaving behind Hanoi’s bustling pace. As the cityscape gives way to open space, the misty outline of Ba Vi Mountain comes into view, its slopes adorned with terraced crops and forested hills.
At Ba Vi National Park, a short and refreshing trek awaits. The trail winds through a cool, cloud-covered forest and leads us to either Uncle Ho Temple or the sacred Tan Vien Temple, dedicated to the Mountain God. This quiet moment in nature offers space to breathe and reflect.
Our journey continues to Duong Lam, the only village in Vietnam recognized as a national heritage site. There, we are welcomed into a centuries-old home for a warm, home-cooked lunch with a local family. Afterward, we wander the village’s narrow alleys, pausing at the temples of Ngo Quyen and Phung Hung - two figures who shaped the course of Vietnamese history over a millennium ago.
As the afternoon light softens, we return to Hanoi with stories etched from forest trails and quiet village paths. End of services.
