Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City. Transfer to the hotel and check-in. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
Begin the city tour with a visit to the Independence Palace, designed as a symbol of opposition to American involvement in Vietnam. Continue to the Central Post Office, known for its elaborate colonial-era bas-reliefs, and Notre Dame Cathedral, a Catholic church from the same period. In the afternoon, explore the War Remnants Museum, which documents key stages of the conflict from its origins to its conclusion. The museum’s exhibits include a wide range of war artifacts and photographs, as well as a section on the global anti-war movement in Asia and beyond. If time permits, visit Ben Thanh Market to shop and experience local daily life.
Return to the hotel. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
Breakfast at the hotel. Depart for Cai Be and take a boat trip upstream to Tan Phong Islet. Here, enjoy a 20–25 minute ride in a rowing boat along a narrow canal, observing local life and lush orchards. Sample tropical fruits and listen to traditional folk music in a garden setting. Visit Phu Chau Pagoda or Cai Be Church.
Continue to a traditional handicraft village to see popcorn making, rice paper making, honey production, and coconut candy making. Taste local specialties and sip honey tea. Cruise to Dong Hoa Hiep Village and visit either Mr. Kiet’s house, recognized by UNESCO as a traditional southern Vietnamese ancient house, or Mr. Ba Duc’s colonial-style residence. Lunch will be served at a traditional or garden house.
Return to Cai Be and transfer to Can Tho. Overnight in Can Tho.
Rise early at 6:00 am to visit Cai Rang Floating Market, the most iconic in the Mekong Delta, where traders sell a variety of goods including fruits, vegetables, and even phone cards. Return to the hotel for breakfast, then transfer to Ha Tien for the speedboat to Phu Quoc. Overnight in Phu Quoc.
