Begin the day with a visit to the Independence Palace, an iconic landmark that once served as the headquarters of the former South Vietnamese government. Continue to the Central Post Office, admired for its intricate colonial-era bas-reliefs, and the nearby Notre Dame Cathedral of Saigon, a historic Catholic church from the same period.

In the afternoon, explore the War Remnants Museum, which presents detailed accounts of the war and its impact through powerful photographs, artifacts, and exhibitions, including the global movement that opposed the conflict. If time permits, browse the bustling stalls of Ben Thanh Market, where you can immerse yourself in the vibrant daily life of the city. Return to your hotel. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

After breakfast, drive to Tay Ninh to visit the Cao Dai Temple, known for its colorful and imaginative architecture. Here, devotees gather for the unique noon ceremony. Enjoy a free lunch break at a local restaurant (not included).

In the afternoon, explore the Cu Chi Tunnels, an extensive network of underground passages built and used by Vietnamese soldiers during the Vietnam War against the Americans. Free meals (not included). Return to Ho Chi Minh City for an overnight stay.

After breakfast, depart for Cai Be. Board a boat to cruise along the Cai Be River towards Tan Phong Islet, where a traditional rowing boat will take you through narrow canals for about 20–25 minutes, offering a glimpse of local life and lush orchards. Enjoy tropical fruits and listen to folk music in a garden setting. Visit Phu Chau Pagodaor Cai Be Church. Continue to a traditional handicraft village to see how popcorn, rice paper, honey, and coconut candy are made, tasting local specialties and honey tea along the way.

Cruise onward to Dong Hoa Hiep Village to see Mr. Kiet’s ancient house, recognized by UNESCO, or Mr. Ba Duc’s colonial-era residence. Lunch will be served at a traditional or garden house. Return to Cai Be, then transfer to Can Tho. Overnight in Can Tho.
